So, I held onto a bag of small, bitty infant sized ones. Some with cute polka dots and some with pinky stripes. The reminder of the days of cute kissable toes. I kept them.
Not because I am sentimental, but I was sure that there was a use for them.
I figured something out. It also relates to how lazy I can be with my crafting. Not to mention it is something I could do while the little ones cuddled up next to me.
I turned them into lavender sachets! My clothes will stay fresh, my drawers will make me feel relaxed when I open them, and my husband's guy funk that clings to everything will diminish. It is probably also green-friendly and hardcore in some frugal circles, so points there to me.
What You Will Need:
Old socks
Dried lavender leaves
Bits of string or yarn
Scissors
Well, here is my workspace. An overturned storage box lid in my lap while sitting on my bed. In the mix there is leftover yarn from a project, my socks, and some scattered lavender leaves.
Anyone can do this. This is why I call is lazy crafting. You open the sock, dump in the desired amount of lavender leaves. Tie is closed snugly with the yarn or string. Throw it in the desired drawer. Give it a good squeeze when you open the drawer so it can release its aromatic goodness.
They may not be pretty, but they reuse good socks.
Here is the lavender I used. I got it off of etsy for a good price.
Look at them sitting so cutely on my window sill before they get buried beneath stacks of yoga pants and nerdy graphic tees! My camera phone does them no justice!
Please go out there and make lazy crafts too.
